I fear for the future. For my money I'd stick to areas where there are potentially protected pockets further from that road - maybe Wurtulla or Buddina golden triangle. I've been burned very badly by listening to Estate Agents in this area before more fool me.

They are currently on the crack of an over heated market. The only certainty in life is change - it will not always be like this. Warana is a beachside suburb with no busy roads to cross to kilometres of pristine beach. The beauty of Warana beach is that there are no high-rises overlooking you and you get the feeling you could be miles away secluded in your own paradise.

Warana is centrally located and is set to be positioned perfectly for future infrastructure such as the new Sunshine Coast Hospital and Kawana town centre, it has easy access to the highway and local public transport.

The local schools and daycare centre are all in close proximity and the rowing on Lake Kawana or weekend entertainment of Stockland Park make for a fun day out. Warana has an excellent community atmosphere and retains the spirit of the Sunshine Coast of the early days.

Kawana has a rather unusual make up. It is a small residential situated only 10 minutes south of the popular Mooloolaba holiday area and 20 minutes north of the family holiday desitination of Caloundra. Kawana Shopping Centre and business centre is only 3 mins drive to Kawana ocean beach and is backed up by man made canals. South of the township on the canals a new Olympic standard rowing course has been built and it is expected there will be international events here on a regular basis.

Kawana tends to be a high residential rental area, but also has multi million dollar homes along the river frontage and along the canals. The building of the canals behind Kawana have formed an island which is known as Kawana Island. This has proved to be a very popular area and is growing in popularity as the new development is moving inland.

This type of development continues south, with the addition of residential and holiday houses and canal estates developed in the 's along Buddina B , Kawana C and Warana D Beaches.

These settlements all parallel the beach, with a densely vegetated foreshore reserve separating them from the beach. South of Warana, the housing development continues at Bokarina E , with only the southern 1 km bordering Wurtulla Beach F down to Curmmundi Creek likely to remain natural, as an environmental park. The beach faces due east and receives waves that average 1.

These waves maintain a m wide double bar system, with the inner bar usually attached to the beach and cut by rips every to m during and following higher waves. A continuous deep trough parallels the inner bar, with the outer bar cut by more widely spaced rips. There is also a strong permanent rip running out against Point Cartwright and tidal shoals and occasional deep channels at Curmmundi Creek mouth, particularly when the creek is open. The beachfront drive makes a detour at Kawana around the Kawana Waters Surf Life Saving Club, which was established, along with the development, in The club house is backed by a broad, grassy reserve and a large parking area.

The main shopping area is also just behind the beach.
