Beautiful chorus! I'm not the biggest fan of Boss pedals, but I do have a couple of favourites, and the CH-1 Chorus is definitely one of them. CH-1 is a very smooth and clean sounding chorus effect, that compliments any clean guitar signal beautifully always works great on overdrive.
It works great in mono, but also has a stereo output - stereo chorus is always cool! The features and controls are fairly standard for a chorus pedal - depth and rate control the sound and speed of the chorus whilst E. The CH-1 also includes an additional function in an EQ knob, which can give give a really strong, bright and shimmery chorus sound, whilst boosting the depth at the same time can create a sound verging on the edge of vibrato!
The CH-1 is an excellent chorus pedal, offering a flexible modulation which is easy to use. There are many chorus pedals on the market, many with more features, but the CH-1 sounds great and can hold it's own amongst it's competition.

I bought the Boss CH-1 chorus pedal, because I was looking for a chorus effect for my clean guitar sound.
Fast delivery by Thomann, perfect as usual. The pedal is built like a tank, easy to use and it brings exactly this chorus effect, you have heard on so many recordings or live performances. This pedal is jused by a lot of professional musicans on their effect board for years. You'll get nice clean sounds, like "welcome home" or "one" by Metallica, also you are able to get those nice 80's distortionsounds.
The pedal also works very well on your bass pedalboard. So, I have two of them. One for my guitarrig and one for my bassrig. In my opinion, this pedal is state of the art, for years. Great chorus pedal. This is a solid built and great chorus pedal, however, I already own the boss Ce5 chorus Ensemble pedal which is far superior.
If you are looking for a chorus pedal, i strongly recommend that you get the CE5 over this as the CE5 allows you choose to put emphasis over bass or treble, and gives the ability to blend these tones. Boss quality with a reasonable price.
Great pedal. For certain players, this was exactly what they wanted, but for others it was too hard to integrate into their rig. This eventually led to a redesign, dubbed the Hi-Fi version. In exchange for dialling back the eccentricities of the original, you get a brighter, more transparent chorus with a far lower noise floor. Yes, it's less like a warped record in tone, but it is more flexible as a standard chorus pedal in return.
With its plethora of controls and DIP switches, almost every element of the Warped Vinyl's sound can be altered to taste. The key part to our minds, however, is the wave-shaping. With this, you can unlock endless chorus variations, as well as some that are unique to this pedal. Its rich, spacey and fully analog tones offer tons of an otherworldly vibe, and in a straightforward, easy-to-use design. Like most EHX effects, it will take you way, way out of the effect's comfort zone.
Explore away. There are lots of controls to work with on the Sea Machine, with plenty of turning and tweaking available at your fingertips — this can be a positive or a negative depending on how deep you want to go in search of that sound. The third-gen version of the pedal also sports improved circuitry for better sonic performance, more range on almost every knob and silent, relay-based switching.
The result is a pedal that runs the gamut of chorus sounds, but like many EarthQuaker boxes, really shines when you push it to the max, twisting and turning the knobs to conjure woozy chorus tones worthy of the sea-faring name. Other features include an optional buffered bypass mode that prevents high frequency loss from long cable runs, Analog-Dry-Through for maintaining the integrity of the analog dry signal path — even when the chorus effect is engaged — and a Kill-Dry feature that removes the dry signal path for use with a parallel effects loop.
The Bubbler Chorus is a smart analog design that offers switchable Slow and Fast speeds with independent Rate and Depth controls. It's similar to ramping between speeds on a Leslie rotating speaker in that respect. A Sensitivity control, meanwhile, works as a sort of dynamic expression function, changing the modulation rate based on how hard or soft you pick.
All in all, a worthy addition to the chorus pedal market, from a company that knows a thing or two about creating legendary sounds. What is Chorus? Chorus is created using a delay line. Your guitar signal is split into 'wet' and 'dry', and an LFO detunes the wet part. By blending this back into the dry signal, you get chorus. There are several related effects that also use a delay line and LFO. These are vibrato, phasers and flangers.
Elsewhere, the main difference between chorus and flanging is the delay time. Typically flanging is below 25ms, and chorus is over that. Also, the 'feedback' control used by flanger pedals to create extra resonance is not found on choruses, which is why they are generally 'smoother' in timbre.
These old-school sounds have been taken into new territory by more recent efforts from the likes of Fender and Walrus Audio, who have served up additional waveforms to adjust how angular the chorus sounds.
Guitar World. Included in this guide: 1. Type: Chorus, vibrato. Controls: Rate, depth, CE-1 switch. Sockets: Input, 2 x output, power. Bypass: Buffered bypass. Power requirements: 9V DC power supply, 9V battery. Reasons to avoid - Not much! I unpacked it immediately and plugged it into my board. The quality of Boss is second to none, from the way they are constructed to the way they perform. I am very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy more.
