Can i be scammed through paypal

No problem, he says. What should you do? The link will send you to a website masquerading as PayPal. Any information you enter will be collected by the bogus buyer, and may be used to commit fraud. If you need to set up an account, go directly to PayPal. He asks you to return the extra money via a money wiring service. Log into your PayPal account. The safest approach is to open a browser window, navigate to PayPal.

Scenario Three: The buyer sends you real money through a real PayPal account, and you ship him the car. Problem is, the PayPal account belongs to someone else! You might need to return the money even though the scammer has your wheels.

What now? Contact PayPal and ask them to open an investigation. Also file a complaint with the FTC and your local police department. Learn how to recognize and avoid common online scams. And contact PayPal at spoof paypal. The company wants to hear from you.

A woman wants to buy my ring on Donedeal. She asks how I want to be paid, i say PayPal. Then she says the money has been sent. I get an email from PayPal but it's a fraudulent site saying the amount plus an extra amount for registered post in pending and will be transferred to my account on proof of dispatching the ring.

When I go to my PayPal account, there is no money pending. Be careful. I have now got it back by doing the following: go to tracking number online and delay the delivery to another date, when that date nears, delay the delivery date again and again if necessary until the parcel is returned to sender. My name is Greenblatt Joseph and am okay with its conditions and i'm buying this for someone very dear to me as a gift and i don't want him to know about it, am not in town at the moment because am in the Army and i am E-4, So can you assure me i will not be disappointed buying this from you?

I have a mover that will come for pickup once payment clears first. Do you have a PayPal account? I just had an almost identical message from a scammer wanting to buy a motorcycle I have listed on eBay.

My scammer was an Army E-6 though, outranking your scammer ; To verify his identity, I asked him to send me an email from his military account.

That shut him up. Mine's an Air Force Major who outranks all your enlisted guys. He writes pretty much the same stuff, though. Mine is apparently working for New Zealand Oil and Gas and cannot view the article because he is at sea. He asked me " where is located" and his name is Gabriel Smith, very bad English for a Smith.

Also sent a link for a pay-pal account. Has a very eager courier to pick up the item though! Hey I'm dealing with one now this very moment, wanting to buy my secondhand furniture, same story as yours but buyer's name is Janet Nichols I emailed a copy of the PayPal payment receipt to phishing paypal and now waiting for further instructions from PayPal. I have been contacted by Janet Nichols too. I have a Sophia Rigby wanting to buy my car. She also happens to work at New Zealand Oil and Gas haha.

So not sure how she is going to get back into the country haha. Not that she is real. Same story! My guy is currently submerged in the submarine off the coast of Connecticut. He would come to the surface for several weeks. But he trusts that the car I am selling is in the condition I describe. Here's one, but can't understand his reasoning. Well, if I receive the extra funds for the mover, how would I pay him?

The mover doesn't accept cash and if I write a check or pay by CC, so could too, the buyer! The item weighs less than 20 lbs. After confronting him on this, he never contacted me back. Just got a text from this same number. It will be the third one for the item I am selling, not this number, but same scam. The third time is this number you noted. It is for a grand piano, so yeah March 1, I had one a few days back that was a low ranking Army Sergeant Name Brent.

His number was !! Be Aware! I had a female oceanographer who was currently still at work and wanted me to ship the item to her friend and was willing to pay extra for my service. It's weird because in the end she would have ended up paying for a brand new item. She insisted on paying through PayPal. I deleted the message then after 2 minutes I get another email from her saying 'thanks for your quick reply'.

If the buyer is lucky he can as a sympathetic postmaster to check the address to find out an envelope not a tv with the same tracking number was delivered to another address. Scammer keeps the money. Great scam. Why would anyone work for a living when scamming is this easy. You just need no morals and paypal.

I was scammed. Shame on PayPal. Just experienced the identical scam. Clearly exposed the scam. The real problem is payPal. Thanks in advance.

My local person was friendly. I started online USPS and she called me a few hours later. The three page report showed what it was First Class envelope 8 oz and not my grill , delivered to this address not mine etc.

Got a hard copy in the mail next day. Once they reviewed it was pretty straight-forward. But you have to have the USPS documentation. This all took a week after the unfavorable decision.

And I had emailed the seller twice to no avail. Even included the USPS report the second time, and gave him 48 hours to refund. But you gotta wonder? How many people will go that far to make it right? PayPal simply cannot rely on an online USPS Tracking system, that does not show what shipped and to what house number.
